Welcome to My Personal Page
I'm mostly staying home in the U.S. this year, when I should be "out there" recruiting teams for, and doing, Global Village builds! But alas, builds in Jordan and Cambodia have been cancelled due to Covid-19, and the most meaningful moments of my typical year have been put on hold.
But that doesn't mean I'm powerless! Which is why I responded quickly when Habitat suggested GV Team Leaders set up fundraising pages -- because the need for decent housing and cross-cultural understanding continues, and even gets worse, as Habitat supporters stay home, champing at the bit.
Some facts:
- Tonight, 1.6 billion people in the world will go to sleep without a safe, decent place to call home.
- The lack of a safe place to call home negatively affects health, academic achievement and security. The global pandemic has brought this to light now more than ever.
- With the world growing "coarser," in recent years, in its view of immigrants, outsiders, and the poor, donations from supporters like us are critical.
Together we can help more families build (or improve) a decent place to call home, creating a foundation of strength and stability that enables them flourish.
Every contribution – no matter the size – will have a life-changing impact on families in need of a decent, affordable shelter.
