Why I’m raising money for Habitat:
Too many families right here in America live in unthinkable conditions. Houses falling apart around them. Children without a safe place to grow and thrive. Elderly men and women living in dangerous conditions.
About Habitat for Humanity and the Carter Work Project
Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope, believing that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. Each year for the past 31 years, former President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, have given a week of their time to help Habitat improve and build homes.
This year, the Habitat for Humanity 2014 Carter Work Project Contest celebrates their dedicated service with a special build starting on World Habitat Day - and just four days after President Carter’s 90th birthday.
