How does the Habitat Gift Catalog work?

  1. You purchase a gift in a friend’s name.
  2. A card gets sent to your friend.
  3. A family in need of a home benefits from your purchase.

In making a purchase, the gift-giver is simply donating to Habitat for Humanity in honor of a friend, loved one or family member. Making a donation in the form of a gift, however, provides tangible meaning that a direct donation does not convey. With an online gift catalog, the giver and recipient can visualize the kinds of things their donations possibly buy—a hammer, drywall or a number of bricks.

Although the money you donate in support of Habitat may not actually be used to buy the specific gift that you have designated, all donations will be used to directly support Habitat’s mission to provide simple, decent housing worldwide.
