The Seattle Times (Seattle, Washington): Debt payment program aims to help Black families become homeowners
Habitat for Humanity Seattle-King & Kittitas Counties is launching a debt reduction program to meaningfully address the racial homeownership gap. In Washington state, about 68% of white households own their homes versus 31% of Black households. The program is designed to help prospective home buyers clear or reduce debts that may be hindering their ability to obtain a mortgage. (1/15/23)

Global Prime News (Mumbai, Maharashtra, India): Habitat for Humanity India partners with Standard Chartered Bank to rebuild the lives of 969 women with new livelihood opportunities
Habitat for Humanity India recently partnered with Standard Chartered Bank for a new initiative called Empowering Women and Improving Life through Livelihood Interventions. The program is designed to provide women with leadership and technical skills, assistance in establishing micro-enterprises to generate income, and empower them to build better lives for themselves and their families. The Orange County Register (Irvine, California): Santa Ana approves funding for affordable housing project
Habitat for Humanity of Orange County and the City of Santa Ana have partnered to develop three ‘farmhouse-style’ duplexes for six families. The Santa Ana City Council approved and awarded the affiliate a $2.2 million grant to complete the project. (12/28/23)

Loveland Reporter-Herald (Loveland, Colorado): JBS donates $2 million to state’s largest Habitat for Humanity development in Greeley
Greeley-Weld Habitat for Humanity recently received a $2 million donation from JBS USA Food Co.’s Hometown Strong initiative to help increase affordable housing in the community. The money will be used toward new construction in Hope Springs neighborhood, the largest Habitat development in Colorado. (1/15/23)
