Habitat Vietnam Build Support
Hi All / Xin Chao!
Many of you know that I moved abroad to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam 10 years ago to teach English. The experience was impactful in many ways - it led me to change careers from corporate to non-profit, launch a Vietnamese coffee pop up shop, and most recently, join a group of volunteers on a Habitat for Humanity Global Village build in Vietnam this summer! I am very grateful for the warm and welcoming Vietnamese people who shared their vibrant culture (and coffee) and am excited to share a mission trip I’ll be apart of this summer.
This August, I’ll be spending 7 days in a rural province in Central Vietnam to help a community in need of improved housing. We will provide sweat equity (quite literally) while working alongside homeowner families, local masons and Habitat staff to help restore homes frequently exposed to flooding and are often unsafe and inadequate.
For those who don't know - in 2025, Vietnam was devastated by record rainfall, impacting more than 200,000 homes. Hue, a city in Central Vietnam, experienced the highest rainfall in a single day in Vietnam's history! (5.5 feet). Many communities are still rebuilding and are in need of ongoing support and our work will create a lasting impact.
Please consider a tax-deductible donation of ANY amount to help support me on this build. Your donation will offset my expenses and a portion will go directly to Habitat Vietnam and the communities we'll be serving.
Thanks/cám ơn!
-Matt
